Michelle Ntalami triumphs in year-long journey to sobriety

Kenyan businesswoman Michelle Ntalami is celebrating one year of ditching the bottle.

In a statement shared on her Instagram page on Monday, August 5, 2024, Ntalami reflected on her journey and the positive changes that have come with her decision to quit alcohol.

“Today I celebrate one year of sobriety! Imagine fam, one full year of zero alcohol! And that includes champagne and the ever-defended ‘harmless glass of wine,” she shared.

She recounted her experience a year ago when she first announced her 30-day milestone and faced scepticism from some.

“I recall last year when I first shared that I was celebrating my 30-day milestone, some folks laughed and said 30 days is too short and soon I’ll be back at it. Well, here we are, a full year!” Ntalami declared.

Ntalami noted that her decision to quit alcohol was not driven by addiction but by a desire to make positive changes in her life.

“While I was never addicted, it doesn’t take one to be addicted to let go of a bad habit. If anything, that’s the best time to quit as you have more resolve to let go of it before you’re bound.”

She mentioned that about three months before she officially quit, she stopped going to clubs and gave away her alcohol stash.

She made drastic changes in her life, determined to cut out anything and anyone that was not beneficial to her well-being.

“The changes were hard but I was determined to cut out anything and anyone who was not good to and for me,” she said.

Ntalami also shared words of encouragement for those contemplating letting go of bad habits.

“This tells you that it does not take you to follow in a certain faith to quit bad habits, situations or people. It is absolutely possible by your own volition. This is my sincere encouragement to you who is thinking of letting go of anything.”

She highlighted the importance of cutting out negative influences, whether they be places, people, music, or suppliers.

“Start by cutting out the negative influences that lead to your bad habit… In time, you won’t have the desire to engage in that habit anymore. It is possible, I did it!”

Reflecting on the benefits of an alcohol-free life, Ntalami noted improvements in her skin, sleep, and overall well-being.

“Aside from better skin and sleep, the best thing for me is I got my Sundays back and now they fully belong to The Lord! Here’s to one year alcohol-free and a lifetime to go!”

Her one-year sobriety comes after she recently declared that she had given her life to Christ.

The Marini Naturals CEO also celebrated her baptism recently.

Ntalami gives life to Christ

Michelle recently celebrated nine months in Christ

On her Instagram account, she shared that a profound experience with God marked the beginning of her spiritual journey. She revealed that despite her business success, her heart had been deeply scarred by various personal challenges.

“On the 21st of August 2023, I had a life-changing encounter with God Himself. As an astute businesswoman, life was beautiful. However, behind the success lay a heart that was deeply wounded by different human experiences along the journey of my life exactly 9 months today,” she revealed.

Ntalami recounted her spiritual journey, sharing that she experienced hearing her name called three times and witnessed visions.

“A thunderous, beautiful voice called my name “Michelle” 3 times. He blinded me and threw me to the floor. In that moment, knew I was in the presence of the Lord! God showed me visions and spoke to me about so many things in my life. The depth of this entire conversation and experience cannot be put into words. I will share in time,” she explained.

She said that last year she hit rock bottom, which forced her to turn to God, adding that all her social media influence will be spiritual.

“I have done my fair share of publicity for myself, others and brands. But today, I do it for The Lord Jesus Christ,” she stated.

“Being an empath, the hurt began to take a toll. Last year, I hit rock bottom. One night in total surrender, I cried out to God questioning His existence, hence my absence on Social Media, What’s different about me? A lot. First, I fully gave my life to Jesus! Second, everything I do in my life including all my influence on social media,” she explained.

Adding;

“From that day, my life has never been the same. God healed my heart and set me free. I’ve experienced a peace like no other. I’m not perfect. Walking with Christ is a journey. I was a sinner, saved by the Blood of Jesus. And my past life is a true testimony to this,” she added.
