Mary Fowler may not have been able to attend the GQ Awards with Nathan Cleary last week, but the Matildas star still dazzled with a bold new look in a selfie uploaded to Instagram.
Fowler, 21, was in Canada last week on international duty with Australia, while her NRL boyfriend Cleary ended up somewhat awkwardly alone on the red carpet at home in Sydney for the glamorous awards ceremony on Wednesday.
The Matildas are reeling from back-to-back defeats to the Olympic gold medalists, with manager Tony Gustavsson coming under increasing scrutiny to turn things around.
But Fowler put national team turmoil aside this weekend by sending her 375,000 followers a testament with a kissing selfie uploaded on Sunday morning.
Fowler wears a white off-the-shoulder dress and pouts at the camera while wearing a bold red lipstick.
Unsurprisingly, Cleary was asked about his new romance while attending the GQ Awards on Wednesday.
“I knew this was coming,” he countered The Daily Telegraphquickly turning red.
‘I’m alone here… No plus-one.
“She’s busy.”
