The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast from Saturday, August 10, 2024, to Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
According to the weatherman, the general outlook for the five days will be characterised by intermittent cool and cloudy conditions in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley.
“Rainfall is likely to continue over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, the Coast and North-western Kenya,” Kenya Met stated.
Nairobi and other areas
Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi county will show signs of rainfall in the morning for the five days, then some areas will within the counties will receive rainfall in the afternoon then partly cloudy weather in the evening.
During the five days, maximum temperatures will hit 25 degrees celsius with a minimum of 7.
Weather in Nakuru, Kisumu, Busia
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley which include Siaya Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties will record rainfall from Saturday to Wednesday.
According to the weatherman, rain accompanied by thunderstorms will pound mostly in the afternoon then followed by a partly cloudy weather condition in the evening.
South-eastern lowlands (Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties) will experience sunny and cloudy intervals for the five days.
Coast (Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties) will have chances of showers in the morning for the five days followed by cloudy weather and sunny intervals in the evening.
“This forecast should be used in conjunction with the daily (24-hour) forecast issued by this Department. County specific forecasts are available from the offices of respective County Directors of Meteorology,” Kenya Met advised.
