He was once a heartthrob in the nineties pop-rock scene.

But fans had a hard time recognising Goo Goo Dolls singer John Rzeznik from his former fame as he resurfaced on Australia television this week.

The 57-year-old frontman and bassist Robby Takac, 58, appeared on The Morning Show via video-link from their hometown in Florida on Thursday to promote their upcoming Australian tour.

While John still sports his famous shaggy blond hair, his face appears to have changed significantly in recent years.

The hitmaker showed off a remarkably smooth complexion during Thursday’s interview, while viewers noticed his cheeks appeared plumper and more youthful than they did when the band shot to fame decades ago.

Robby meanwhile rocked a head of bright purple hair and a set of orange-tinted spectacles.

During their interview, the bandmates shared their excitement about visiting Australia in the summer, telling hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies that they’ll be visiting the beach as soon as possible.

John also reacted to seeing how the new generation is embracing his music thanks to viral TikTok videos featuring Goo Goo Dolls songs.
