Jen Shah completes anger management course behind bars: ‘#ZenJen’

Jen Shah is now “#ZenJen” after completing her mandatory anger management course.

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” alum, who is serving time for telemarketing fraud in a Texas prison, tells Page Six exclusively via her rep, Chris Giovanni, that she’s feeling “healthy” with her new behavioral tools.

“Through journaling, homework, audio lessons and the two hour weekly group sessions/class, I learned more about what anger is, where it comes from, and healthy ways to respond and react that are safe and beneficial,” Shah says.

The Bravolebrity says “challenging unhelpful beliefs” was one of the most important tactics she studied to create alternative outcomes from high-stress situations.

“I learned you can have the same activating event but get a different outcome using the tools we learned and implemented each week,” she explains, adding that Rational Self-Analysis is another “tool” in her arsenal.

“In reflection, I could have used this on ‘RHOSLC,’” she says. “Even though class has ended, I will be carrying around my RSA worksheet in case I run into conflict while here.

“Ultimately, I can’t control what others will do, but I can control how I choose to respond and react with the tools I learned in class…#ZenJen.”

Some of the topics Shah and other participants discussed in their program were “women and anger,” “anger responses,” “bottling it up” and “anger and other people.”

Shah, 49, pleaded guilty in July 2022 to defrauding thousands out of money, particularly the elderly, in a telemarketing scheme. She originally pleaded not guilty in the headline-making case.

The reality TV alum reported to prison on Feb. 17, 2023, to serve her six-and-a-half-year sentence, which since has been reduced by one year. She also was ordered to pay $6.5 million in restitution and already has begun making payments.

Although she no longer appears on Bravo, Shah has made do by writing a “Real Housewives of Bryan” play with her inmates, whose personalities have been “cranked up to an 11.”

It’s unclear if fellow fraudster Elizabeth Holmes has been cast in a role.
