Morgan started after joining the team earlier this week as an injury replacement for Mia Fishel, who tore a ligament in her right knee during practice.

Morgan, who normally wears No. 13, will wear Fishel’s No. 7 during the tournament due to Concacaf rules.

Morgan came on as a substitute in the opening game of the tournament for the U.S. team, a 5-0 win over the Dominican Republic on Tuesday night. She converted a penalty in injury time to complete the scoring.

Olivia Moultrie, 18, scored twice on Tuesday. Combined with Shaw, it marked the first time two different teenagers scored multiple goals in consecutive games for the US.

Mariana Larroquette, who earlier in the match tried for Argentina from distance and hit the crossbar, almost scored again, but Argentina was ruled out for offside.

The United States were awarded the penalty in the 75th minute due to Miriam Mayorga’s handball. Mayorga also received a second yellow card, leaving Argentina down to ten players for the remainder of the match.
