Lawyer Nelson Havi has warned Kenyan media houses against inviting him to panel discussions.
Taking to his official X account on Monday, July 29, 2024, the former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president told unnamed media houses to stop sending him interview invites via test messages.

Havi said that he would not honour any invite to discuss President William Ruto’s recent Cabinet appointments and the current state of the nation.
Havi who unsuccessfully vied for the Westlands Constituency parliamentary seat in 2022 via the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, says he stopped giving media interviews.

During his tenure as the LSK president, Havi used to be vocal in morning TV panel discussions.

However, he minimised the televised interviews after the end of his tenure at the LSK, and after the 2022 General Elections.
Havi has been vocal on social media, especially X, where he airs his views on various issues in the country.
The lawyer has been vocal on judicial matters and in several circumstances, he has criticised Chief Justice Martha Koome.
On July 22, 2024, Havi caught the attention of Kenyans when he gave his views on the fate of the reappointed Cabinet Secretaries.
The lawyer stated that the appointments of the Cabinet Secretaries that were reappointed by President William Ruto would be null and void if they did not undergo National Assembly vetting.
Havi said that all CSs appointed to office must be approved by the National Assembly through vetting.
“The CSs appointed to office (there is nothing like re-appointment after dismissal) must be approved by the National Assembly in accordance with Article 132(2)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya. If not subject to approval, the appointments will be null and void ab initio,” Havi stated.
