Ticketek is known to employ security measures, like tracking IP addresses, to ensure fair distribution and prevent scalping or bots from buying large quantities of tickets.
But this can mean that multiple different users on the same network – such as employees in a shared office – may be blocked from buying tickets.
Ticketek treats all users coming from that IP as a single user, meaning your chances of getting through the queue will be worse if you are on your work Wi-Fi.
The best way to get around this problem is to get off your employer’s network and access the internet via your mobile data.
IP addresses can also be masked or changed using various techniques, but this is a more complicated process.
