Eastern Michigan football player sparks mass fight after SUCKER PUNCHING rival from South Alabama following 59-10 defeat in the 68 Ventures Bowl

A massive brawl broke out late Saturday in the 68 Ventures Bowl after an Eastern Michigan player threw a punch at his South Alabama rival while celebrating.

Playing on home soil at Hancock Whitney Stadium, South Alabama defeated the visitors 59-10. The Jaguars (7-6) led 38-3 at halftime before securing their first bowl victory on the fourth try.

But the winning team’s celebrations were cut short when one of their players was attacked from behind.

South Alamaba players and staff stood in the stands opposite the marching band and sang the school’s national anthem when an Eastern Michigan player rushed over and appeared to punch a rival in the back of the head.

The attacker was immediately grabbed and a fight soon broke out involving players from both teams.

Some staffers tried to end the violence as punches were thrown and South Alabama players piled into an Eastern Michigan rival on the ground.

Fracas continued to break out even after it seemed that tensions were beginning to cool. Near the end of the clip, which appeared on social media, a South Alabama player tackled an opponent to the ground.

According to reportsthe violence came after tempers flared during the match There’s going to be at least one major altercation on the sidelines of South Alabama.

It is alleged that Korey Hernandez of Eastern Michigan was the player who threw the first punch, hitting South Alabama defensive back Jamarrien Burt in the head.

Burt’s older brother, fellow defenseman Brian Dillard, was said to be among those who jumped in to defend him.

Afterwards, Eastern Michigan coach Chris Creighton said, “We had a really good, long chat in the locker room afterward.

“We always want to be first-class, no matter the circumstances, no matter what the scoreboard is, no matter what other factors, people, whatever are involved. And anything short of top-notch is not up to the standard we have in Eastern Michigan football.

‘I think our boys attach a lot of importance to performing well. I’m sure we were embarrassed by the way we played and it probably didn’t take much to get our guys to a place we hope they never get to.”
