Eager weatherman Matty Taylor accidentally jumps in shot early on BBC Breakfast leaving Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson in hysterics

Eager weatherman Matty Taylor left BBC Breakfast presenters Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson in hysterics on Tuesday when he accidentally jumped into the shot.

During the segment the hosts were joined by John Watson as he shared the latest updates from the sporting world, but found himself interrupted.

Matt was seen awkwardly shuffling on screen behind John’s shoulder, before realising his mistake and quickly disappearing again.

But it seems it wasn’t quick enough as John caught sight of him in one of the monitors and made light of the blunder.

‘I think Matt will be enjoying it [the football] too, he’s looking very eager isn’t he,’ he laughed.

Ben, who has stepped in for Jon Kay, teased: ‘Can we see that again?’

‘It’s okay no one noticed,’ Sally giggled.

She then added: ‘I think it must be the weather next!’ as the presenters all made fun of Matty’s blunder.

Last month in another live mishap, BBC Breakfast stars Jon Kay and Sally were poised to launch into their next news item on school uniforms when they spotted an employee sprinting across the studio in the background behind them.

The mystery runner on the floor above, wearing jeans and a grey t-shirt, dashed into shot and ducked around the corner of the screen and out of shot.

However, as Kay pointed out, his impressive bolt had already been seen by millions of viewers at home.

Stifling laughter, BBC news broadcaster Kay turned to his co-host and said: ‘Did you see that? Somebody is obviously late for work this morning.’

Sally responded: ‘Yeah, somebody is hopefully bringing us a cup of tea Jon. Hopefully, that is what that is!’

The presenters enjoyed a giggle at the sighting before using it to link to their item on expensive school uniforms, with Sally joking: ‘It’s enough to make anyone run away as they can be very expensive…’

Posting the moment on his Twitter account, Kay told his 58,000 followers: ‘When you’re late for work and the UK is watching….’

Viewers speculated over exactly why the employee was so keen to get somewhere, with one writing: ‘Last night’s vindaloo kicking in…’

Another quipped: ‘When you send the whole document and not just the page to the printer.’
