Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua and Citizen TV Director of Strategy and Innovation Linus Kaikai have engaged in an online exchange of words over a crime documentary being aired by Citizen TV.
Taking to his social media account, Dr. Mutua expressed is disappointment with Citizen TV for airing the documentary in short clips.
He termed the Jane and Solomon documentary as a ‘scam’.
“This Jane & Solomon story on Citizen TV is a scam. Much ado about nothing!” Mutua posted.
In a rejoinder, Kaikai clapped back at Mutua, terming him as a scam, not expounding what he actually meant.
“Well @EzekielMutua if for nothing else, a scam is watching another.” Linus responded.
However, Kenyans opinions go hand-in-hand with that of Mutua with majority calling on Citizen TV management to find time to air the entire story rather than airing it in bits of 5 minutes during the 9pm bullets everyday.
Jane and Solomon series unearths the forgotten story of Jane Muthoni, a high school principal convicted of murdering her husband, Solomon Mwangi, who served as Kiru Boys’ High School principal.
Muthoni, who served as Icirari Secondary School principals was jailed for 30 years after she was found guilty of plotting murder of her husband in 2016.
She is said to have engineered her husband’s killing after he allegedly began a relationship with another woman who worked at an M-Pesa.
The plan was to eliminate Mwangi’s lover and then kill him.
