Conor McGregor has teased a ‘big’ upcoming announcement in a social media post.

The 35-year-old recently attended the Day of Reckoning boxing event in Saudi Arabia, where Anthony Joshua secured his third win of 2023 by stopping Otto Wallin in five rounds and Joseph Parker upset the odds to beat Deontay Wilder.

McGregor sat next to Cristiano Ronaldo in the front row as fans took to social media to joke about the ringside interactions between the two.

In an interview after the main event, McGregor gave an update on his fighting future, suggesting he could face former eight-weight world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in the Gulf state in his next fight.

McGregor also emphasized that his patience with the UFC is “running out,” noting that negotiations surrounding his return to the Octagon after more than two years of inactivity have thus far proven fruitless.

In a post to his 47 million followers on Instagram McGregor wrote: ‘Legendary night of boxing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia! BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS TO COME.”

The Irishman also tagged Ronaldo and Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh alongside three photos of the trio sitting together at the event.

McGregor remains under contract with the UFC, so any potential return to the boxing ring would need to receive Dana White’s blessing before being confirmed.

White previously co-promoted McGregor’s 2017 ‘Money Fight’ with Floyd Mayweather, an event that delivered the second-highest pay-per-view buyrate in history behind only Mayweather’s fight with Pacquiao two years earlier.
