Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard joke about their VERY different weekends after triumphant first week on This Morning

They started their new jobs on Monday, taking their place on the This Morning sofa as the show’s new regular hosts.

And Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard are wrapping up their four days on air, sharing a look at their very different weekends with their Instagram followers.

Ben shared a sweet tribute to Cat and his first week as part of the This Morning family with a post on Saturday, admitting he was trying to stay healthy after a week of eating on the popular morning show.

‘Just looked at @kenmckayphoto’s many amazing photos from this week @thismorning @catdeley and had a lot of laughs and of course a delicious meal!’ He wrote.

‘I’m now fasting this weekend to make room for next week!! Thank you for all your sweet messages. See you Monday I hope!’

Cat quickly responded to her co-host’s post and joked: “I’m cooking steak now @donalskehan,” tagging chef Donal who appeared on the show this week.

She later took to her own Instagram page to share a Story photo of her steak she made for her two sons, joking, “Ben is fasting, I’m cooking.” Making steak Saturday night. Slice it and serve it to two hungry boys.”

Cat is enjoying the weekend with her boys while her husband Patrick Kielty remains in Dublin, recording his popular Late Late Show from Tuesday to Friday to mark St. Patrick’s Day.

Cat has returned to the UK for work after more than a decade in the US as host of So You Think You Can Dance.

As well as her role on This Morning, ITV’s new golden girl is also reportedly in line to replace boyfriend Ant McPartlin in the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent, should his wife Anne-Marie Corbett go into labour.

The presenter, 48, will become a father for the first time in June, coinciding with the competition’s live shows following last year’s final which aired on June 4.

Now according to The sun ITV is putting a consistency plan in place in case the Geordie is forced to run and leave sidekick Declan Donnelly’s side.

According to the publication, new This Morning presenter Cat, 47, could be called up as a guest presenter, with Stephen Mulhern’s name also in the mix.

A source said: ‘The timing is a headache for bosses.

‘They are considering whether Dec would present alone if Anne-Marie were to give birth, or whether, time permitting, a guest presenter could step in. Cat and Stephen, who the boys have worked with in the past, are frontrunners.’

Cat hosted SMTV with Ant and Dec from 1998 to 2001, while Stephen regularly appears with the duo on Saturday Night Live.

MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.
