Harry Kane, England’s all-time top scorer, eats beans and bacon for breakfast like any regular fan – and is incredibly down to earth.
They are two of the heartwarming revelations that emerge as he leaves the £3,500-a-night Mandarin Oriental hotel where he has stayed since joining Bayern Munich this summer.
Kane is moving into a place of his own this new year with his wife Katie, their four children, his father, mother, brother and his two children’s nannies.
Last week he posted a farewell photo on Instagram with the hotel staff, thanking them for their help.
The hotel’s general manager, Dominik Reiner, waxed lyrical about the former Tottenham man when asked to reflect on his time at the hotel.
“He was definitely one of the most popular regulars we ever had,” he said Suddeutsche Zeitung through Image.

Reiner described him as “absolutely one of the top five” guests ever – just behind Queen Elizabeth II.
He added: “The Kanes have not withdrawn, on the contrary. They were very open, very approachable.
“He was one of the most down-to-earth guys we’ve ever had.
According to the hotel manager, Kane “absolutely always” ordered a typical English breakfast of bacon and beans, relying on the comforts of home, although he turned to more exotic sushi and sashimi for his evening meal.
According to Bild, Kane got a discount on a 120 square meter room for £3,500 per night.

He wrote: ‘Many thanks to the hotel staff for making me feel at home since I moved to Munich. They played a major role in making me feel so comfortable in my place.’
