A woman who discovered her boyfriend was “cheating” the night before they embarked on an extended European holiday has exposed his antics in an elaborate “revenge” plot.
The girlfriend, who goes by the username @iknow_girl on social media, detailed the demise of their 18-month relationship after discovering messages between him and a friend.
In a In a video that has earned almost two million views, she shared a series of images taken during their nine-week European adventure showing her holding up Post-It notes in front of various iconic locations while her unsuspecting boyfriend posed behind them.
Each of the multi-color notes is signed with the hashtag “I know” and eventually leads to the big reveal – his alleged adultery.
“Went on a 9 week Europe trip with my boyfriend who has been cheating on me our whole relationship because I found out the day before and didn’t want to lose thousands of dollars in cancellation fees,” she captioned the video, which has been viewed almost 2 million times since shared to TikTok.
One note claimed her unidentified other half would “often take trips with his buddies to screw other women”, as he posed in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris behind it.
Another, shot in front of London’s Big Ben, read: “He doesn’t know that I know he’s cheating on me.”
The final image showed him in front of London Bridge with a note that revealed she would be “breaking up with him after this trip”.
After her mammoth efforts to survive the trip and expose his apparent infidelity, @iknow_girl shared a series of other videos giving more detail about the messy breakup.
“It wasn’t until I got home that I sent him the reel I had made, along with a very lengthy message describing how I was breaking up with him,” she said.
“He ended up leaving me a 30-second audio message on Snapchat apologizing.”
Many social media users showered the woman with praise, labeling it a very “mature” way to seek “revenge” after being “cheated” on.
“I could never hold that in. Good for you,” one applauded.
“This is epic. You’re an icon,” another agreed.
As one declared: “Ummm I’ve never respected someone more! The strength this took.”
Others wanted to know how she held up the notes without her ex being suspicious, to which she revealed she’d told him there would be a montage of their holiday, with each card describing something sweet he’d done for her.
