Ariana Madix revealed during a talk show appearance on Tuesday that she hasn’t had a face-to-face conversation with her ex Tom Sandoval in almost a year.
The 38-year-old Vanderpump Rules star was asked about her status with Tom, 41, who had a months-long affair with her good friend Rachel Leviss, 29, during a visit to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“When was the last time you and Sandoval had a face-to-face conversation?” Andy, 55, asked.
“The reunion,” Ariana responded, referring to the season 10 reunion for Vanderpump Rules that was filmed on March 23, 2023, just weeks after Ariana learned of the affair that ended their nine-year relationship.
“Wow,” Andy said.

“I mean, instead of maybe one or two lines in each other’s direction during filming,” Ariana said.
Andy then asked Ariana what it was like watching a scene from season 11 where Sandoval talked about Rachel and said he was still in love with her.
“It was expected that he would talk about it, so I understand, but it seems like I’m a non-entity in all of this, in literally everything,” Ariana said.
As for Scheana Shay, 38, telling everyone that Dancing with the Stars was her dream, Ariana shared her reaction to it.
“On the one hand, I can totally understand you being happy for a friend, but also feeling like, oh, you really wanted this thing for yourself too,” Ariana said. “But on the other hand, my thought process is that if one person from our show participates in it, it wouldn’t help anyone else from our show.”
“What surprised or hurt you most that you heard her say?” Andy said. “Or did you think differently when you heard all this.”
“During filming, I was completely unaware of a lot of things being said behind my back,” Ariana said. “And I love Scheana very much, but a lot of the things that were said were very hurtful. In concrete terms it is difficult to determine anything. It’s kind of like the general attitude towards me that I’ve seen, which is quite hurtful.”
Andy also wanted her opinion on Sandoval buying James Kennedy sunglasses and whether she thought he was trying to buy his friendship.

“It was expected that he would talk about it, so I understand, but it seems like I’m just a non-entity in all of this, in literally everything,” Ariana said when asked about Tom talking about it. Rachel
“Yeah, it seems like there’s a lot of gift giving going on,” Ariana said.
Ariana said she couldn’t discuss the state of her living situation because of the lawsuit she filed against Sandoval. She also said that Ann was not her assistant and that she did not have an assistant. Ariana also laughed and said no when Andy asked her if she wanted her and Sandoval’s giant Lego portrait reworked.
“Obviously I’m not the only owner, but I’m saying you can have it,” Ariana said.
Andy asked her how her new relationship was going and pointed out that her boyfriend Daniel Wai was in the audience.
“It’s nice to be able to do normal things,” Ariana said.
A fan asked Ariana her thoughts on the news of Jax and Brittany Cartwright’s divorce and whether she had spoken to either of them recently.
“I just texted Brittany,” Ariana said. “I just wanted to let her know that I love her and support her.”
Another fan asked her if she thought it was hypocritical for Scheana and Lala Kent, 33, to say she had a big head with all her opportunities when they had no problem “cashing in on your Sandoval trauma with their podcasts and to sell merchandise.’
“I hadn’t thought of that, but that’s a very interesting point,” Ariana said.
Ariana was asked by a fan about her relationship with Lisa Vanderpump, 63, and whether the English restaurateur had gone too easy on Sandoval.
“It was good,” Ariana said. “She came to see me at the Dancing with the Stars final, which was super cool. And every time I see her it’s amazing, but of course when you watch the show you see things and you’re like, ‘what the heck.’
‘I just texted Brittany. I just wanted to let her know that I love her and support her,” Ariana said after being asked about Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s split.
When a fan asked her if Lala saw the hypocrisy of asking the group of friends to out her ex-Randall Emmett, but then expected Ariana to be okay with the group welcoming Sandoval back.
“I think she thinks it’s different somehow because I have a house with him and that’s her biggest problem,” Ariana said. ‘However, those situations are very different and I never said that no one could welcome him or do what he wants. I just said I was going to remove myself.”
Andy congratulated Ariana on her role as Roxie in Chicago on Broadway.
“You’re breaking box office records,” Andy said.
