Another Trump vs. Biden election: Letters to the Editor — Aug. 5, 2023

The Issue: Piers Morgan on the possibility of another election between President Biden and Donald Trump.

I have a bone to pick with Piers Morgan’s piece “Wake up, America” (Aug. 1).

Morgan asserts that both former President Donald Trump and President Biden are possible criminals, so we need to find other candidates.

I say that Biden and his government are categorically, hands-down crooks. As part of their criminality and to help cover their nefarious acts, they launched a series of bogus criminal investigations against Trump to sully his reputation. Being a criminal and being attacked by criminals are two very different things.

The Democrats out-right lied about Trump and Russia. Now we should believe them in their current attacks?

Anyone who earns this level of Democratic ire deserves our support.

Biden, as sitting President, is entitled to run for a second term. Trump is entitled to run a second time as a former one-term president.

If no one wants this rematch, why then is Trump crushing his competition in the polling?

I’ll tell Piers what the hell is going on: I can’t speak for people who support Biden, but I can certainly speak for those who support Trump.

We are tired of the Democrats. We are tired of their monumental hypocrisy, duplicity and their historic corruption.

We are tired of what they have done to our country, and what they did to our duly elected president.

We want our country back from the Dems and their progressive benefactors, who promote a woke agenda that benefits no one and diminishes everyone.

We want our America-first economy back: low gas prices, cheap energy and low inflation. We want safe streets and people in law enforcement left alone to do their jobs and be respected. We want secure borders.

But most of all, we want to be left alone to live our lives, raise our families and pursue happiness absent government indoctrination.

We want a government that adheres to the principles of our constitution and is not weaponized against its people and its political opponents. We’ve had enough.

As the inevitability of a rematch between Biden and Trump for the presidency becomes more of a reality, the electorate will have to concentrate on the vice presidential selections as they cast their ballots and make their donations.

There are no guarantees that the Trump indictments will produce any convictions involving imprisonment or probation.

But should there be a pre- or post-election jail sentence for Trump, who he has selected as his vice president takes on immense significance.

And by the same token, if Biden becomes cognitively impaired, his selection of vice president is equally important.

With all the hysterics about Trump, there is only one thing that is important: his record as president.

The following is the record: A great economy, low inflation, controlled immigration, respect from the world, low unemployment and more manageable crime — not like now. How can you deny his success as president? He did the job. I was a proud American under his leadership. Look what we have now.

I have ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Trump was the greatest New Yorker, and with another term, my children and their children will live the American dream.

All of the new candidates cannot shine his shoes.

I agree with Piers Morgan that Republicans could do better with a candidate other than Trump.

However, Morgan might not get that what Americans abhor more than anything is unfairness.

The Biden administration’s Department of Justice and corrupt FBI have demonstrated a partisan two-tiered approach to law and order. That’s why Trump’s favorability rises with these indictments.
