Andy Lee makes disgusting discovery hidden in his decrepit $8.5million Melbourne mansion during $5million renovation

Channel Nine’s Andy Lee has found some seriously disgusting rubbish in his $8.5 million mansion.

The comedian has started with a plan $5 million renovation of abandoned Melbourne mansion he bought in 2021.

And in the attic he came across gigantic piles of bird droppings, which he shared on Instagram.

“Checked today to see if there were hidden treasures in the ceiling,” he wrote alongside an image of himself on a ladder.

“If you look at pigeon droppings treasures, there were a ton of treasures!! HEAP!!’ Andy added as he showed his fans the manure piles.

Located in Hawthorn, the once grand home lay in ruins for a decade before Andy, 42, and his long-term lover Rebecca Harding, 31, bought it for a whopping $8.5 million.

And to celebrate their extensive plans for the 150-year-old property, Andy and Rebecca threw a Christmas party for their neighbors last week.

The Hundred host told the Herald Sun Saturday that he decided to start work on the mansion next year after part of the remaining roof collapsed.

Andy explained the reasons why the couple decided to host a Christmas at the country house which is in a prime location overlooking the Yarra River.

“We said, ‘You’ve been looking at this place in this (derelict) state for thirty years, so if you’ve never been there, come and see it.’ It will be your last chance to see it in this condition before the possums, rats and pigeons are released,” he said.

“I’m concerned that they (the possums, rats and pigeons) might have squatter’s rights because they’ve lived there for so long.”

He added that he denied to the guests that the house currently has no running water, electricity or toilet.

Photos loaded onto Andy’s social media show the huge two-storey property in an advanced state of disrepair.

Plans for the site include the addition of a second building that will be connected by a tunnel to the original Italianate mansion, which was built around 1876.

Other highlights planned for the 1,950-square-foot facility include a home cinema, a gym, a swimming pool and a ‘mega bedroom’.

In a statement to the Herald Sun, Boroondara Council confirmed it had issued a decision to grant planning permission for the Yarra Grove address.
