The 57-year-old, who grew up in Mexico but is half Lebanese on his father’s side, has the latest edition of Vogue Arabia.

She shot three different cover photos for the publication, once again proving her status as a style icon and international bombshell.

In one of the photos, she paired her busty Gucci dress with a dazzling diamond necklace from Boucheron, as well as an extravagant ring from the same brand.

Her luscious mane of jet black hair was blown back and flowed dramatically as the Frida star gave a seductive look to the camera.

In the magazine, she was interviewed by her longtime friend Penelope Cruz, with whom she co-starred in the 2006 comedy western Bandidas.

The pair candidly revealed how they have maintained their close bond despite sometimes taking on the same roles.

“We never lie to each other,” Salma said. ‘When it came to work, we always told each other what we were doing. And we said, “Okay, we want to get this movie, but if I don’t get it, I hope you do.”

Their generosity toward each other “allowed us to navigate the hypocrisy and fakeness of Hollywood.” There were some projects you wanted more than I did, and I wanted other projects more than you did. We were able to negotiate it.’

Penelope recalled, “Do you remember when a producer told us both that we were getting the same role, but he didn’t know we were so close, and we told each other?”

“Of course,” Salma said. “It was hard for people to understand how two women, who looked like competition from the outside, were so close. And we still are!’

She said warmly to Penelope, “I always call you to work on a character because there is no one else in the world who can understand me better.”

Salma reflected that she and Penelope “have gone through different phases of life together. Dating, trying to make a career, dreaming together, falling in love, getting married, having children.’

Penelope is married to fellow Spanish film star Javier Bardem, while Salma’s husband is French tycoon François-Henri Pinault.

“When I met François, you said I sounded different when I talked about him,” Salma told Penelope. ‘And the same goes for Javier. I don’t know if I could call you anything other than family.”

The two actresses also reflected on a harrowing plane trip they endured together, fearing they would crash and die.

While the pilot performed an emergency landing, Salma had to try to comfort Penelope, who was already afraid of flying.

Penelope later told Salma, “I thought we might die.” But we would die together. And we were going to be fine.”

Salma laughingly recalled to Penelope, “You’ve always had a fear of flying and you always give me instructions on what to do if you die in an accident!”

While they were over the Mexican countryside, a flight attendant came out of the cockpit to get an oxygen mask, and Salma knew the plane was in trouble.

“So I grabbed your hands and told you everything is going to be okay,” she told Penelope. “Something’s wrong with the plane, but I need you to calm down.”

Salma told the Ferrari star: ‘I was so proud of you because I saw you struggling to calm yourself down. We could make a whole movie about this!’
