🌟 Exciting News from Emily Matson! 🌟
Pinch me, I must be dreaming! Landing an anchor gig in my hometown feels like a dream come true! I’m overjoyed to be back in Erie, telling the stories that impact my neighbors every single day. emily matson erie pennsylvania dead.
My journey with WICU 12 began in the wee hours of the night. For the first two years, I worked alongside the fantastic Mark Soliday, producing the morning show. Transitioning to the role of a reporter was a thrilling step, and focusing on the crime beat from day one has been incredibly fulfilling. Making a difference in the Erie community, meeting new people, and sharing stories that resonate with everyone is what I cherish most.
One of the many things I adore about my job is the unpredictability—no single day is EVER the same! I thrive in breaking news situations, earning the “Outstanding Spot News” award from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters not once but twice.

Currently, catch me on the anchor desk at 7:00 and 11:00, having a blast with John Stehlin discussing the day’s trending stories at 7:00 and teaming up with Mike Ruzzi for Erie’s updates. However, don’t think I’m just confined to the desk—I relish the opportunity to get out and continue telling stories in the community.
