The Aga Khan University (AKU) is seeking Consultant Field Enumerators for a project in Lamu, Kenya, under its Institute for Human Development (IHD). These positions involve supporting the data collection for the IDRC project, “Care for All: Catalyzing Care Innovations in Marginalized and Vulnerable Communities in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL).”
Responsibilities:
- Familiarizing with data collection tools and protocols.
- Translating study tools between English/Swahili and local languages.
- Engaging with communities and conducting the consent process.
- Collecting data as per the project’s protocols.
- Storing study documents and samples securely.
- Documenting field activities and providing regular updates.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Social Science, Education, Economics, or related fields.
- Proficiency in using smartphones, tablets, or computers.
- Familiarity with research ethics.
- Fluency in English, Swahili, and the local community language.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
