The Aga Khan University (AKU) is seeking Consultant Field Enumerators for a project in Lamu, Kenya, under its Institute for Human Development (IHD). These positions involve supporting the data collection for the IDRC project, “Care for All: Catalyzing Care Innovations in Marginalized and Vulnerable Communities in Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL).”

Responsibilities:

  • Familiarizing with data collection tools and protocols.
  • Translating study tools between English/Swahili and local languages.
  • Engaging with communities and conducting the consent process.
  • Collecting data as per the project’s protocols.
  • Storing study documents and samples securely.
  • Documenting field activities and providing regular updates.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Social Science, Education, Economics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in using smartphones, tablets, or computers.
  • Familiarity with research ethics.
  • Fluency in English, Swahili, and the local community language.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
