The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a state corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013 as the national body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. KEMRI has grown from its humble beginning over 40 years ago to become a regional leader in human health research. The Institute currently ranks as one of the leading Centres of excellence in health research both in Africa as well as globally.

Data Intern : Assists in data collection, analysis, and management for various research projects. They support the research teams by ensuring data accuracy and integrity while learning advanced data analysis tools.

Research Intern : Works under the supervision of experienced researchers to conduct studies, gather information, and contribute to ongoing research initiatives. They participate in fieldwork, data collection, and report writing.

Administration Intern : Supports administrative functions such as office management, scheduling, and document handling. The intern assists in day-to-day operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.

Laboratory Technology Intern : Works in a research or diagnostic lab setting, assisting with sample analysis, laboratory experiments, and maintenance of lab equipment. They support laboratory technologists in ensuring accurate and timely results.

These internships provide a hands-on learning experience and insight into KEMRI’s world-renowned medical research and public health initiatives.
