Anti-Israel protesters gathered in Chicago for a fourth consecutive night on Thursday. The demonstration coincided with the final evening of the Democratic National Convention, where Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to deliver a significant speech to her supporters.
Participants assembled around 5 p.m. and then began marching. Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling and other officers led the procession.
The route on Thursday took the marchers past Park 578, a location further from the United Center, the DNC venue, compared to previous marches. A significant number of riot police formed a barrier between the protesters and the convention.

Minor confrontations occurred during the march, notably one involving a counter-protester holding an American flag. Some protesters antagonised police officers using a megaphone, shouting, “You guys are the ones with guns!”
An individual in a “BLM” shirt waved a large black flag while mocking the police, exclaiming, “You guys are scared.”
Protesters, holding signs and Palestinian flags, chanted slogans through bullhorns such as “There is one solution, intifada revolution” and “long live the intifada.”
As evening approached, some demonstrators began to disperse from the main group and leave the protest.
