BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst scolds co-star for ‘dropping the c-word’ just minutes into show – gasping ‘I can’t believe it!

BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst slammed her co-star Ben Thompson for using the ‘c-word’ live on air just minutes into the final live show.

Ben and Sarah Campbell were sat on the famous red sofa as Nina joined them to discuss the ‘buy now, pay later’ schemes during Wednesday’s episode.

During the segment, Nina informed viewers that Debt counselling organisations and the new Labour government are calling for tougher rules to protect people using the scheme.

As the conversation was winding down, Ben said, “It’s really important. And I dare say people are already thinking about Christmas presents and things like that, right? And how they’re going to spend their money now and maybe spread it out?”

Nina joked, “I can’t believe you’re saying the c-word. It’s August.”

Ben added: “It’s not that long,” while Nina joked: “Someone is more organised than me.”

This comes after BBC Breakfast saw two presenters replaced in a further change of presentation on Tuesday.

The Monday-Wednesday programme’s presenters John Kay and Sally Nugent were nowhere to be seen as the morning show continues to make changes ahead of the Olympics.

Instead, Ben Thompson and Sarah Thompson took the helm on the red sofa and read out Tuesday’s top stories.

And that wasn’t the only change: BBC coverage of the Olympics started at 6:45am on BBC One, meaning BBC Breakfast had to switch to BBC Two halfway through the broadcast.

The morning program followed the same format last week and was criticized for omitting key sections such as local news and the weather forecast.

Moreover, Ben’s replacement John is normally paired with Luxmy Gopal, instead of Sarah.

That came after only Sally, 52, was replaced by Jon, 54, who joined Nina Warhurst (right) at the end of July.

It came just a day after fans of the show were outraged when Ben Thompson replaced Jon on Tuesday.

BBC Breakfast forgot to mention why Sally was not on the show on Wednesday.

Despite the change, some viewers thought Nina did a great job when she covered the tragic stabbings in Southport on the news.

A few days earlier, the programme was pulled from BBC One mid-broadcast and moved to BBC Two to make way for coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

But the fact that the show was cut short and moved to a smaller channel wasn’t the only thing that had fans upset.

Fans called the interview segment “disgraceful and disappointing” as they said Ben used an “aggressive tone” during the interview with the politician.

The Chancellor was a guest on the current affairs programme to discuss, among other things, her decision to end winter fuel payments to millions of pensioners who do not receive a pension or other means-based benefits.

BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One
