Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are the latest celebrities to be victims of a burglary after a gang attacked their LA home in broad daylight.
Law enforcement officials revealed that TMZ that the A-list star’s clifftop home was broken into a few weeks ago, with thieves smashing glass to gain entry to a guesthouse on their property.
The actors weren’t home when the security alarm went off due to the broken glass, but that didn’t stop the criminals from breaking into the $26 million Pacific Palisades home.
Neither the authorities nor Tom and Rita have yet released any information about what, if anything, was stolen or how much the items are worth.
The case is currently under investigation by police and so far no arrests have been made. The couple are the fourth celebrity to be hit in the past month, after Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland and Marlon Wayans.

The couple purchased the 1,370-square-foot home in January 2010.
The 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom cliffside mansion is clad in limestone and has three levels and features a wine cellar, a cliffside pool and terrace, and a tree-lined courtyard, according to Architecture overview.

The duo are the latest victims of a series of burglaries in the area, which appear to be the work of one of the many gangs active in this wealthy area.
In the past six weeks alone, pop star Bhad Bhabie and actress Sarah Hyland have been victims of a surge in burglaries in and around Los Angeles, with police worried that gangs are becoming more fearless.
Four weeks ago, Bhad Bhabie’s home was attacked by burglars. They forced open her back door and stole items such as handbags and jewelry.
Police raided the rapper’s home after the alarm went off shortly before 10 p.m. on July 12.
Authorities found evidence of forced entry, but no one who had entered the building was found at the scene. However, a man in a black hoodie was spotted running away when police arrived.
Bhad Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, is said to be worth quite a bit of money after she recently revealed that she has earned a whopping $57 million on OnlyFans.
Sarah Hyland, 33, was also broken into after she saw “two masked men” leaving her home on security cameras.
On July 27, the Modern Family star’s Los Angeles home was broken into, also in the middle of the day. The suspects had broken a glass window to gain access to her home.
Sarah was out of town at the time of the incident, but witnessed the crime when she watched live security camera footage on her mobile phone after receiving an alert.
According to TMZ, police were called to the property and conducted a search to make sure there were no criminals in the area.

Police sources told TMZ that the burglars broke into Marlon’s backyard and “broke out a back window” to gain access to the home.
Although the case is still under investigation, no arrests have been made by police at this time.
It is not yet clear what was stolen from Hyland’s home.
The former Love Island USA presenter will make an inventory of her belongings upon her return to Los Angeles. The police will use this inventory to track down stolen goods.
Actor and comedian Marlon Wayans also had his Los Angeles home burglarized recently, on June 29. Shortly after, he posted a warning for potential thieves.
In a post on Instagram, he said: “Don’t waste your time.
“They didn’t really get much because I don’t own shit. I don’t have anything valuable in my house except MY HOUSE. Sorry, I live a simple life.”
TMZ previously reported that the robbery occurred around 2:30 a.m. while his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans was asleep.
An employee discovered in the morning that the house had been ransacked and a safe had been taken.
The recent news of a break-in at Tom and Rita’s home comes almost a year after the couple’s son, Chet, 34, found an intruder in his own home.
At the time, it was reported that the suspect attacked the arresting officers at the scene, but Chet was unharmed.
Chet recently shared insights into his upbringing, confessing that he felt “worthless” despite having famous parents.
While chatting with other celebrities on ‘Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets,’ Chet said, ‘I’ll tell you something about my childhood.
‘People think that, being Tom Hanks’ son, I would grow up feeling like I was the shit.
‘I basically grew up feeling like I was completely f****** worthless. People treated me like, ‘You must think you’re better than me,’ when you weren’t.
‘I just wanted to be friends with everyone and be treated like everyone else.
‘But what am I supposed to do? Walk through the doors and be all humble and shy? That was a mindf*** for me to deal with.
“Then when you walk through the door and you’re like, ‘Here I am, motherf*****,’ it’s like, ‘Oh, look at you, you arrogant son of an a****.’ I’ve internalized all that negativity. Maybe I’m f****** worthless, you know what I mean?”
