A new Shadow Duelist has been revealed for Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL, giving players another secret celebrity to unmask.
In 2024, Konami started a new tournament series in Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL, where players battled among themselves for a shot at beating and revealing the identity of the masked Shadow Duelist.
Now, it’s back for another run with a new enemy pulling the strings – Baron Bloodthorne. But who is this mysterious new villain?
How it works
Back in March, Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL players competed in head-to-head matches to earn a shot at facing the Shadow Duelist in a Duel. Now, all that’s left is the grand finale, where the last one standing goes up against Baron Bloodthorne.
Over the next few weeks, expect a bunch of clues to appear on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL social media pages teasing the identity of the celebrity. But we’ll have to wait until the grand finale for the Baron’s mask to be removed.
Previous competitions have featured a famous singer and even a WWE superstar, so there’s no telling who it could be this time.
Players competed in a series of matches with the ability to change their Decks between rounds. The field was whittled down until just one remained, with the winner set to go up against the Shadow Duelist in a best-of-three Duel.
Not only does the winner get the pride of unveiling the tournament’s big bad, but they’re also awarded a series of prizes, as well as the celebrity’s mask complete with an autograph.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL event takes place on Friday, July 25, 2025, starting at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM BST.
