YouTuber P2istheName’s cause of death has finally been revealed nearly three months after he was found dead.
On March 14, Philip Enewally, better known by his YouTube moniker P2istheName, was discovered in the mail room of his apartment building.
For months, fans wondered exactly what resulted in the YouTuber’s death, leading the police to rule out foul play.
In the months leading up to his death, Enewally planned to leave LA and move to Atlanta, and his content, which once pulled millions of views, had stagnated down to 20-60K.
On June 10, just shy of three months since his death, The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner determined how the 26-year-old died.
P2istheName’s heart suddenly stopped beating
According to the medical examiner, Enewally died after sudden cardiac dysfunction, a condition where the heart stops beating, preventing blood from circulating properly.
The medical examiner said that Enewally’s sudden cardiac dysfunction was due to solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy.
“Solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy is a subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a risk factor for a sudden fatal cardiac event. The manner of death is natural,” they explained.
“Mr. Enewally was found unresponsive at his residence on March 14, and death was pronounced at 15:11 hours by responding fire department personnel. A deputy medical examiner completed an examination on March 16, and the cause and manner of death were certified on June 10.”
The YouTuber was in a mail room because he often frequented them for content. He had a successful clothing brand called dontmindus, with several of his videos showing him boxing up and sending out merch to fans who bought it.
P2 frequented mail rooms and shipping stations in many of his final videos and completely sold out of his entire stock of clothing.
His final video, dubbed “a regular night with my rich ‘psychotic’ friends,” was uploaded on February 24, 2025, and fans used the comments to mourn the creator.
