What billionaire Elon Musk said after hearing Kamala Harris officially launched her campaign for president

Elon Musk ridiculed Vice President Kamala Harris’ status as the Democratic presidential candidate by posting a video of the former prosecutor ushering in a rally and describing not only her preferred gender markers, but also what she was wearing.

“I am Kamala Harris, my pronouns are she and her, and I am a woman sitting at a table wearing a blue suit,” Harris says during the introduction to a roundtable discussion in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in 2022.

“Imagine this for 4 years…” Musk joked as he posted the clip of Harris chairing the meeting, which discussed the impact of abortion restrictions on the disability community. The meeting was watched by many visually impaired people.

Musk, 53, is known for his lack of tolerance for gendered pronouns. In July 2020, he declared on X, “Pronouns suck.” A few months later, he tweeted, “I’m totally pro-trans, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”

In another dig, he once wrote about X: “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci.”

One of those who criticized Musk for his attacks on pronouns is Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, who is considered a candidate to become Harris’ vice president.

The former astronaut told Musk not to cause “ridicule and hatred towards” members of the LGBTQ community.

“I strongly disagree. Forcing your pronouns on others who haven’t asked for them, and implicitly excluding those who haven’t, is neither good nor kind to anyone,” Musk responded.

The Tesla founder has already endorsed Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Even if it was in the fictional race against President Joe Biden, Musk is unlikely to change his mind.

Before Biden’s shock announcement on Sunday that he would not run, Musk tweeted about conversations with his “smartest friends” in San Francisco, who were looking forward to voting for Trump and J.D. Vance in November.

“I believe in an America that maximizes individual freedom and achievement. That used to be the Democratic Party, but now the pendulum has swung to the Republican Party,” he wrote in a follow-up post.

Despite Musk’s tweet lacking context, Harris’ words were criticized in 2022 by The Atlantic Graeme Wood wrote: ‘The whole introduction gives the unfortunate impression that Harris thinks that blind people are not only partially sighted but also so uninformed about politics that they don’t know whether the Vice President is a woman and whether she uses gender-specific pronouns.’

Musk took on Harris earlier this month when he accused the former prosecutor of lying about Trump’s support for a nationwide abortion ban.

“Donald Trump would ban abortion across the country,” adding, “President @JoeBiden and I will do everything we can to stop him and restore women’s reproductive freedom,” Harris wrote.

The SpaceX founder responded: “He made it clear in the debate that he wouldn’t do that.”

In April, Trump stated that he believed abortion laws should be left up to the states themselves.

The Biden and Harris campaign at the time did not give up.

“Elon Musk can Google it himself: Donald Trump wants to ban abortion nationwide, allow his allies to ban medical abortions and contraception, and use government power to intimidate and punish women,” spokesman James Singer said.

“This election is a choice between upholding Roe and protecting women’s fundamental rights, and allowing extreme politicians to interfere with medical decisions and curtail freedoms.”
