Those in Florida reported similar problems on social media, hours after Hurricane Milton knocked out power to nearly three million people.

More than 1,500 users have submitted reports Down detectorwith 64 percent citing problems with their mobile phone, followed by internet at home and mobile internet.
Others have flocked to social media to see if Verizon is really in trouble, especially those stranded in Florida after the Category 3 storm.
“I’m hearing from friends that Verizon cell service is down in the Sarasota area. So if you’re trying to reach someone, have a little patience. They may not have telecom for a while,” said a user on X.
One woman begged Elon Musk to send SpaceX’s Starlink satellites into the area.
“Elon Musk, my husband is a first responder in Charlotte County Florida. Their Verizon network is down, complicating matters as inspectors try to assess the damage and report back to the emergency operations center. In any way [access] starlink,” she wrote.

‘Their Verizon network is completely down. They must be able to communicate to inform people whether the roads are safe.
‘Power lines and trees are down, there is rubble everywhere and the streets are flooded. Many will try to return to unsafe conditions. Millions of people fled the area!’
While some attributed Verizon’s outages to the storm, an X user commented on the site that “AT&T is working.”
