Tyreek Hill breaks his silence after Dolphins star was handcuffed and hit by cops in dramatic scenes

Tyreek Hill insists he has “no idea” why he was pinned down in the crowd and handcuffed by police while en route to the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The wide receiver scored an 80-yard touchdown just hours after being pulled over by police in dramatic scenes, reportedly ordered to stop after being cited for “reckless driving.”

He then appeared to be beaten by a police officer in a shocking video. After the game, Hill spoke openly about the ordeal and vowed to “learn” from it.

“When I left the house, I said to my wife, ‘Honey, I’m going to go to work and get ready for the day,’” he told CBS.

“I didn’t know that was going to be that big of a surprise, man. But you know what? At the end of the day, I’ve got a job to do and my job is to come into this stadium and be great.”

When asked what exactly happened, Hill said, “I’m not going to comment on that. We’re just going to let bygones be bygones, move on and learn from it.”

Hill gave another interview in which he told reporters he had “no idea” why police had handcuffed him.

When the curator was told that one of the officials involved had been assigned to administrative duties pending the investigation, he added: “That tells you all you need to know.”

Hill was led away in handcuffs after an alleged altercation with an officer, but officers released him shortly after.

The star receiver wasn’t the only Dolphins player to be placed in handcuffs Sunday morning. Several of his teammates stopped to “offer (their) support,” and defensive lineman Calais Campbell revealed he also had a run-in with officers.

“They put handcuffs on me too and I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ I didn’t understand what was going on,” Campbell said.

“That he put handcuffs on me. I felt a certain way. That shows how resilient we are. We don’t let that stop us.”

“That was a first, 17 years in this game. I saw Tyreek get arrested. I just wanted to make sure he was okay, and try to de-escalate the situation. The officer felt a certain way and put handcuffs on me.”

Hill paid tribute to the other players who “risked their lives” to support him during the incident, telling CBS: “I thought that was amazing. I was f****** excited.”

He added: ‘(They were) there in the heat of the battle with me. That shows it’s more than just football.
