Police said the position of the treadmill in relation to the window was “dangerous” – just two feet apart.

The small height of the wall under the window – only 30 cm – made it easy for the woman to fall through.

Meanwhile, K-Gym suspended operations for three days after the incident occurred.

The gym had warning stickers telling gym-goers not to open windows, but the sticker was reportedly damaged and the writing was unclear.

There was usually also a personal trainer present to close the windows, Compass.com but they were on a break at the time of the accident.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
