TikTok star Eixchel Berroteran has revealed the horror of being attacked and committing suicide by her stepfather.
Berroteran, who lives in Florida and has more than 4 million followers on TikTok, says she survived by the grace of God.
The 23-year-old influencer and her mother were attacked by her mother’s estranged husband, Luis Damas.
They had been married for 13 years when they split seven months ago.
According to police records, Damas showed up at the women’s apartment on August 21 and demanded to know where Berroteran was.

“There are no words to describe the terror, pain, trauma, fear and panic attacks this has caused us,” Berroteran wrote on Instagram under photos of her injuries
He claimed that she was the reason his marriage to her mother failed and demanded to see her.
Once inside, he shot Berroteran and her mother, which she called an attempted murder and suicide.
He told the women that he had “come here to die,” before threatening to kill Berroteran. Berroteran had hidden under the bed while her mother struggled with her stepfather.

Eventually the two managed to calm him down.
He left the house after ordering them to “clean up” the crime scene.
The women reported the incident to the police days later, initially saying they were afraid to report him.
“There are no words to describe the fear, pain, trauma, anxiety and panic attacks this has caused us,” Berroteran wrote on Instagram beneath photos of her injuries.
She shared photos of her bruised stomach, a cut on her hand and bruises on her leg.
Damas was arrested and appeared briefly in court on Wednesday.
