Tiffany Haddish pulled a cheeky prank on Justin Timberlake while discussing her sobriety – following his DWI arrest in the Hamptons this week.
On a recent red carpet, Haddish was asked about her experiences with quitting drinking after being arrested twice for drunk driving herself.
She was asked the question Friday evening at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards honoring black talent, which she was about to host.
In response, she said that sobriety hasn’t changed her “at all”, arguing that it was in fact alcohol that “changes you”, for example by giving rise to “toxic relationships”.
However, after giving a serious answer, the 44-year-old comedian sharply added, “You better ask Justin Timberlake the same ***!”

When asked if sobriety had changed her behavior, Haddish explained, “It certainly changed me when I drank, and that changes you.”
She continued, “And it messes up your skin, your hair, your body structure, you get a bad physique. It creates toxic relationships.”
On the day of Haddish’s interview, it emerged that Timberlake reportedly ‘freaked out’ while in custody following his DWI arrest in The Hamptons on Tuesday, as it is claimed he is grappling with the end of his ‘golden boy image’.
The 43-year-old singer was held in police custody overnight after his arrest as he left a night out with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor.
According to a source for People magazine on Friday, “He panicked and stayed awake all night while in custody.
‘He insists he only had one drink and it wasn’t a wild night out.’
DailyMail.com has reached out to Timberlake representatives and has yet to hear back.
Justin has insisted he only had one drink on the night of the incident.

According to his arrest report, he told the officer – who did not recognize him – after he was pulled over, “I had one martini and followed my friends home.”
This comes as the pop star is reportedly struggling with the end of his golden boy image and feels like his career isn’t where he hoped at the moment.
Following his arrest for alleged drunk driving in Sag Harbor earlier this week, sources say the 43-year-old singer has had issues with lackluster album sales of his sixth record, Everything I Thought It Was, released in March.
“The album didn’t do well, and I don’t see Justin getting any major acting roles right now,” an insider said. Page six. “I just think Justin has a bad reputation in Hollywood for being a bit of a jerk and a pain in the a**.”
The industry source added: “He has a bit of an ego.”
The father-of-two, who has won more than 10 Grammys since rising to fame as one of the lead singers of boy band NSYNC, has had a tough year as an artist.

His latest single, Everything I Thought It Was, marked his first solo release not to reach number one on the charts since his song, Justified, was released in 2002.
Furthermore, sales of his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour have been described as ‘lackluster’.
“His golden boy image is definitely exhausted,” the Hollywood insider said of the musician, who is one of the most influential entertainers of the 21st century.
The source acknowledged that “there have been rumors surrounding Justin’s behavior for a long time” and “maybe the bubble was about to burst and this was the peg that popped the bubble.”
“In today’s world, you have to be very stupid to drink and drive,” the industry insider continued. ‘Justin shows a side that I don’t think many people knew.’
Although best known as a pop singer, Timberlake has dabbled in acting over the years and is said to have his sights set on an Academy Award nomination for his role in The Social Network in 2010.
The SexyBack hitmaker eventually got a nod five years later for writing the single Can’t Stop the Feeling! for the animated film Trolls.
Most recently, he starred alongside Benicio Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone in Netflix’s 2023 crime thriller Reptile.
Following his arrest for alleged drunken driving in Sag Harbor earlier this week, sources say the singer (pictured May 2022) has had issues with lackluster album sales for his sixth record, Everything I Thought It Was.
Timberlake and his wife, Jessica Biel, rented a house in Sag Harbor for the summer, “just like last year,” according to Page Six.
Timberlake’s arrest came during a brief hiatus from touring, following his June 15 performance in Miami and ahead of two shows in Chicago on June 21 and 22.
It was previously reported that he planned to continue with the Chicago concerts, and now sources indicate that fans with tickets further along in his world tour can still expect to see him perform.
The pop singer’s tour continues through December with stops in New York City before heading further into the US, heading to Europe, back to Canada and then spending several more weeks in the US.
Timberlake was arrested in the tony Hamptons town of Sag Harbor in New York.
Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol after arresting him.
He refused to take a breath test at the scene, resulting in his driving privileges being suspended in New York State.
Although Justin was indicted on the DWI charge and other traffic violations, he has remained tight-lipped about his arrest until now, despite spending a night in jail.
He was also cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. Timberlake, who was released on bail, has his next court appearance scheduled for July 26.
Although the NSYNC singer has kept quiet, fans of his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears have been extremely vocal on social media about the arrest.
“Fans are buying Britney Spears’ ‘Criminal’ after Justin Timberlake’s arrest,” Britney Stan posted to X Account on Tuesday morning, along with a clip from the pop superstar’s music video.

Others pointed out the apparent hypocrisy of Timberlake being arrested for a DWI after allegedly urging Spears to quit drinking.
He never addressed the singer directly, but her fans claim comments he made in 2007 while accepting a Brit Award were directed at Spears.
‘Stop drinking! You know who you are. I’m talking to you,” he said at the time. “You’re getting sloppy. OK! The magazine is going to say something bad about you.”
However, Timberlake denied that the message was directed at Spears during a later interview with GQ.
This was claimed by a representative of the former boy band singer Fox news that he was simply referring to “people in the crowd, no one in particular.”
Timberlake has been married to actress Jessica Biel since 2012 and shares two children.
The couple has two sons: six-year-old Silas and four-year-old Phineas.
