Britney Spears has ended her relationship with criminal Paul Soliz because she feared her romance with her former housekeeper and “defaulter” would jeopardize her relationship with her own teenage sons, insiders say.
The 42-year-old pop star shared a post on Instagram on Sunday night, calling herself “single as f**k,” before deleting the post. Just two months ago, she was photographed looking disheveled as she left the Chateau Marmont with Soliz.
Now, insiders claim she ended their short-lived union after rekindling her broken relationships with Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, who are her top priority, and fears Soliz “led her down a dark path.”
“She chose her children and her well-being over Paul,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. “They didn’t get along and in fact he didn’t treat her the way she should be treated.
‘He was nothing more than a rebound and she recognizes that. But she’s back in touch with her children and that’s what’s most important to her.

‘This made her feel whole again and she realised that in their absence she had been searching for something or someone to fill the void, but no one could.’
They concluded: ‘She also saw what a lousy father Paul was and that was a huge turn-off for her. But, before that happened, she knew that staying with him would only lead her down a dark path. His history speaks for itself.’
On Sunday night, the Grammy-winning singer shared a photo to Instagram account The Random Vibez that read, “Her attitude is cruel but her heart is gold.”
She captioned the photo: ‘Single as f**k!!! I will never be with another man as long as I live!!!’
She later removed the statement and only credited The Randon Vibez.
Soliz was first linked to Spears as a cleaner and handyman on her team, but reportedly later became her lover, following her split from ex-husband Sam Asghari, 30. The couple divorced in May.
Just hours after the divorce was finalized, Soliz was photographed with Spears leaving the Chateau Marmont with paramedics wearing nothing but a blanket and underwear and clutching a pillow, initially raising concerns about her mental health.
But now it appears she’s ditched the handyman and is fully focused on rebuilding her relationship with her sons, whom she shares a relationship with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 46.
Spears confirmed she was single on Sunday night in a now-deleted Instagram caption: “Single as f**k!!! I will never be with another man as long as I live!!!”

“Britney has been talking to Sean Preston and Jayden for months and working on their relationship,” an insider told DailyMail.com last month.
“The boys have so much love for their mother, as she does for them. Things are back to normal and they are looking forward to their future together.”
Spears confirmed on Instagram that things are back on track, when she recently shared a photo of her brother Bryan.
“She looks beautiful,” she captioned the photo. “I sent it to my kids and I think they were jealous because they were like, ‘That’s a filter…that’s not real.’”
Spears and Federline married in October 2004 after a whirlwind romance that saw them welcome Sean Preston in September 2005 and Jayden the following September.
Two months after the birth of their second son, she filed for divorce, but in July 2007 the divorce became final.
She then went on a public rampage, dramatically shaving off her hair and being hospitalized for drug abuse.
In January 2008, Federline was granted full legal and physical custody of their sons, just weeks before Spears was placed under the controversial legal guardianship.

During that time, when her life and finances were in the hands of her father, Spears was in contact with her sons, whom she saw regularly.
But in 2022 it became clear that their relationship was strained.
In August 2023, Federline and the two boys moved to Hawaii, along with Federline’s wife of 10 years, Victoria Prince, and their two daughters Jordan, 12, and Payton, 9.
Spears has visited her sons several times this year at their home in Hawaii, which has been one of her favorite vacation destinations for decades.
The Grammy winner has been vocal in recent years about her strained relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden, who said two years ago that he hoped for a reconciliation with his mother.
Spears has never confirmed her relationship with Soliz, who was convicted of weapons possession in December 2020.
An insider told DailyMail.com in September that the two were not officially in a relationship, claiming: ‘They had a brief fling after Sam left but that was it.
Britney had contact with him twice and at that time, [she] knew nothing about his criminal past. She no longer has contact with him.’
Soliz is the father of at least nine children. In May, he was sued by his mother and the Los Angeles Department for Child Support Services (DCSS) for child support.

Nicole Mancilla, 36, told DailyMail.com that Soliz cheated on her with Spears and that he hasn’t paid the bills for his five children with her and his other children with other women. Yet he still tries to visit her at her mother’s house in Sylmar, California.
Court documents obtained by DailyMail.com show that DCSS filed a civil lawsuit against Soliz on March 22, ordering Soliz to pay $1,167 a month in child support, plus 50 percent of health care costs for Trystan Alexzander Soliz (9), Dylan Andrew Soliz (8) and baby Violet Pearl Soliz (21 months).
The complaint states that the children have been receiving benefits since January 2020.
In September 2021, a Los Angeles judge ruled that Soliz was the father of Trystan and Dylan, and of Cesar Martinez-Mancilla, 17, and Nicholas Soliz, 6.
