The Euros’ most heart-warming story: Christian Eriksen scores on his first game back in the tournament since his on-the-pitch cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 – 1,100 days ago

Christian Eriksen has made a great comeback by scoring at the European Championship – just over three years after his cardiac arrest at the 2021 European Championship.

The midfielder scored a half-volley after 17 minutes to give Denmark a 1-0 lead in their opening match against Slovenia.

Football came to a standstill on June 12, 2021, when Eriksen required CPR on the pitch in a match against Finland after collapsing due to cardiac arrest.
