Jasmin Neuwen underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The reality TV star, 40, underwent a six-hour operation to remove both of her breasts just weeks after publicly sharing the heartbreaking news of her diagnosis.

Jasmin, who appeared on the 2020 season of The Block with her husband Luke, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer after undergoing her very first mammogram.

On Tuesday, she then documented the lead-up to her mastectomy procedure in hospital, while being supported by Luke and their children, Lola and Sonny.

In a series of Instagram posts, Luke explained that Jasmin had a double mastectomy and a hernia removed during a six-hour operation.

“She went into it in good spirits and I continue to be blown away by how strong this woman is,” he said.

“We just want to say from the bottom of our hearts how much all your kind words and powerful messages mean to us. We can’t call them all back, but we know they are being heard.’

Luke then filmed Jasmin as she came out of surgery and posted photos of her still smiling as she recovered in her hospital bed.

‘This woman can’t take a bad photo! She is doing great and has already eaten half a block of chocolate,” he wrote in a caption.

The next day, Luke revealed that Jasmin was already recovering at home after surgery, as he shared a video of her lying in bed.

He wrote alongside the clip: ‘Are you kidding me!? Not even 24 hours later and she is back in her own bed?! Six hours of surgery yesterday?! I knew she was tough, but wow.”

Jasmin’s surgery comes just weeks after she shared the heartbreaking news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

She revealed on Instagram that she was diagnosed after having her first ever mammogram at the age of 40, which she said “saved” her life.

Jasmin urged others to sign up for a free mammogram as she shared her shock at her diagnosis despite having no symptoms or family history of breast cancer.

‘Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. We are devastated. Considering my age, no family history and lack of symptoms,” she shared in a post.
