Space X’s billionaire-funded Polaris Dawn mission will make history when an all-civilian crew embarks on the world’s first private spacewalk.

Shortly before 10:00 (BST), the crew opens the hatch of their Dragon spacecraft and enters the deadly vacuum of space.

Billionaire Jared Issacman and SpaceX employee Sarah Gillis take turns stepping out of the vehicle, which is 430 miles (700 kilometers) above Earth.
