Simone famously retired from the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo after making a mistake on the jump.

She later said she suffered from something called “twisties” – a mental block that makes gymnasts feel “lost in the air.”

The athlete also has indicated that the incident was related to the sexual abuse she had suffered at the hands of pedophile doctor Larry Nassar.

She was one of more than 150 gymnasts abused by Larry, the former national team doctor, during his 30-year career. In 2019, she said the trauma of the attacks left her with suicidal thoughts.

She then took a two-year break from the sport, but returned last year and is now making waves at the 2024 Olympics.

She helped Team USA to a gold medal in the team finals on Tuesday, making her the most decorated American gymnast of all time.

And on Thursday she scored another, after overcoming a rare mistake on the uneven bars.

She was furious after botching a change and posting a score of 13.733, handing the lead to Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade.

She was visibly annoyed as she walked off stage. Replays showed her yelling, “F**k,” at her coach.

But the 27-year-old bounced back with excellent performances on the beam and floor, scoring 14.566 and 15.066 points respectively, to take victory from Rebecca, who took silver.

Her teammate Suni Lee won a bronze medal after a sensational performance on the floor.
