A horrifying scene erupted in Samut Prakan last night, leaving a quiet neighbourhood shell-shocked after a landlord went on the rampage shooting four family members dead and leaving a young girl fighting for her life.

Thai police were summoned at 8.30pm, yesterday, November 26, to a single-storey rental home in Bang Pu Municipal Soi, to find four family members dead and a 7 year old schoolgirl brutally injured.

The tragic drama unfolded when Pisit, a 64 year old landlord, allegedly went on a murderous spree over an unpaid loan, brandishing his legally-owned 9mm pistol like something out of a crime thriller. The deadly confrontation ended with him turning the weapon on himself in a shocking twist.

The 45 year old Wasana was found lifeless on a marble bench, riddled with bullets in his stomach, chest, and back. His wife, 43 year old Rattapak was brutally struck in the chest, thigh, and arm. Her 69 year old mother, Thongsiri, met a similar fate, gunned down near the entrance of the home.

The family’s seven year old daughter was whisked away to Samut Prakan Hospital, clinging to life with gunshot wounds in her chest, back, and arm.

Neighbours paint a harrowing picture of the moments before the massacre, citing heated arguments before the ominous sounds of gunfire filled the air.

One shaken resident, choosing to stay anonymous, echoing the testimony of other stunned witnesses who saw Pisit shoot himself after his deadly rampage.

“We heard loud arguments before the gunfire started.”

Evidence of the chaos was strewn across the scene: 13 spent shell casings, an empty magazine, and four remaining bullets tell a grim tale of vengeance and tragedy.

Suphaset, the 19 year old son of the victims, confirmed simmering tensions with Pisit, revealing an ongoing financial dispute that likely sparked the horror. Detectives are now probing deeper to uncover any additional factors that might have fuelled this explosive incident.

Police say Pisit had no criminal record, leaving family, friends, and the community grappling with the unthinkable. As investigations continue, the devastating loss casts a long shadow over Samut Prakan, reminding us of the fragility of life and the unpredictable twists of fate.
