Samantha Armytage has hinted at major career news following reports that she has just signed a major deal.

The 48-year-old Farmer Wants A Wife host teased her new gig when she was interviewed by The Daily Telegraph at The Everest in Sydney this weekend.

Last week it was reported that the media personality had signed a deal with Channel Nine to host new dating show The Golden Bachelor.

Samantha, dressed in a chic black gown, was coy when asked if she had signed with Nine.

Samantha didn’t confirm the deal herself, but gave a tantalizing clue as she enjoyed the races.

‘Look, watch this space. Exciting times ahead,” she said, giving the interviewer a slight smile.

According to sources, the contract would be worth a ‘significant amount’, but exact figures have not been released.

The announcement comes after months of negotiations between the television star and her new network.

“It’s been a bit of back and forth, but I believe the contract has been signed,” an insider told The Daily Telegraph last week.

The Golden Bachelor is a spin-off of the series The Bachelor, but differs in that the participants in the reality dating show are seniors.

The recent season of the US version of the show was hugely successful, with a finale attracting 6.1 million viewers, making it the most-watched final episode of the US Bachelor series since 2021.

“This is a smart move by Sam and Nine. She is very suitable for this performance and has breathed new life into Boerzoekt Vrouw,” said the insider.

It comes after speculation that Samantha was the frontrunner to host Nine’s new reality show.

Entertainment journalist Peter Ford joined the debate last month and tipped that the presenter of the Australian version of the ABC hit will be none other than Sam.

The popular presenter announced her departure from Seven in August after 21 years with the network.

Peter went to X and responded to a report about Indoor media about the likely host, claiming it would almost certainly be the former Boer Wil Vrouw helmer.

“If I was a gambler I’d put money on @samarmytage,” Peter suggested.

“She is now a free agent after leaving 7 and it has been clear that she has been interested in new opportunities.”

The report itself squashed rumors that former Bachelor host Osher Gunsberg would return to the franchise.

Sam became the face of hit dating show Farmer Wants A Wife last year after appearing as a guest presenter for the first time alongside former host Natalie Gruzlewski.

But she shocked fans of the franchise in August by announcing she would be quitting Seven after 21 years.

Describing the departure as ‘sad and bittersweet’, Sam told The Daily Telegraph she felt her time had come to an end and was excited about her future.

‘I love instinct. I listen to my instincts. I know when the time comes. “I’m proud that I stand behind myself enough to say, ‘I’ve done what I can do here’ and I’ll move on,” she said.

‘This is not the end. It’s just the end of this chapter.’
