During the BFF’s performance on Thursday HotReynolds, 47, said they successfully kept the film’s major twists under wraps.

The matinee idol then revealed the elaborate strategy he devised to prevent the superhero film from leaking online.

“The original idea with this movie was to make a fake movie called Alpha Cop that was intentionally bad,” he said. “I even had one of the posters made — it was about two guys who share one brain and together they become the ultimate cop. And the poster says, ‘Alpha Cop: Two Cops, One Brain. All Balls.’”

The star continued: ‘It had to be a bit horrific, so 10 people in America would go see this movie opening week. Five minutes into the movie, the Marvel logo would flip over and it would actually be Deadpool & Wolverine.’

Hugh was clearly unaware of most of the fake movie details because he said, “Wow, that’s cool!”

The pair also revealed what they did to make money before they became famous in Hollywood: Ryan drove a forklift, while Hugh performed as a clown at birthday parties.

“I’ve sprained my ankle a couple times driving those forklifts,” Ryan said of his pre-famous construction job.

Hugh admitted, “I literally rented a clown costume… and we had no talent, literally no talent… I broke my rule and threw a party for an 8-year-old.

‘I always knew they were going to find me and he found me and this kid was screaming at his mom, “Mom, this clown is trash.” And I said, “Shut up, kid.”

While the Deadpool & Wolverine stars managed to avoid any major leaks, they did face another challenge: incorporating a range of extremely hot sauces into the series.

Both actors seemed to struggle with the intense spiciness, with Hugh getting teary-eyed and Ryan drinking milk.

“Hugh has never felt physical pain before, so for him as a spoiled star this is an important rite of passage,” Ryan joked.
