Rob Schneider breaks silence after daughter Elle King slammed his ‘toxic’ parenting

Rob Schneider has apologized to his daughter Elle King after she accused him of sending her to a fattening camp as a child and labeled him as toxic.

The 35-year-old Ex’s & Oh’s hitmaker called the former Saturday Night Live cast member, 60, “not nice” when she criticized him for his controversial comments about the LGTBQ+ community during her recent appearance on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde Podcast.

King said she “hasn’t spoken to the comedian in four or five years” and admitted she “doesn’t want to be associated” with him in any way.

Now Schneider has publicly given his daughter a mea culpa in a teaser for an interview with Tucker Carlson coming Thursday.

He said, ‘It’s fun being a parent, isn’t it? I just want to tell my daughter Elle that I love you and I wish I was the father you needed in my 20s, but I clearly wasn’t and I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings.

I love you completely, I love you completely and I just want you to be healthy and happy, with you and your beautiful baby Lucky. I wish you all the best.

“All I want for her is for her to be happy and heal from this.”

Elle went after the star in her interview, saying, “I don’t agree with a lot of what he says,” the singer said of Schneider in a clip from the episode. “You’re talking out of your ass and you’re talking shit about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And then it’s like, go f*****.”

King said she “hasn’t spoken to the comedian in four or five years” and admitted she “doesn’t want to be associated” with him in any way.

“He’s just not nice,” she added. “You can want to change someone so much. You can’t control other people’s actions and you can’t control other people’s feelings. The only thing you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.”

DailyMail.com has reached out to Schneider for comment.

Elle grew up in Ohio with her mother, London King, and stepfather Justin Tesa. She said she reconnected with Rob as an adult after a strained childhood relationship.

In her younger years, Elle rarely spent time with Rob on film sets, where she often felt overlooked amid the chaos.

“I would just disappear into the crowd,” she explained. “If I ever messed up a shot, if I ever talked, I would be in f****** trouble.”

King recalled at the time: “My dad forgot every birthday. I spent my 18th birthday at summer school and they brought me cupcakes and when I came home, my dad forgot my birthday.”

A major disagreement between King and Schneider concerned her appearance, particularly her weight and tattoos.

“I was a really, really heavy kid. My dad sent me to a fat camp. And then I got into trouble for a year because I twisted my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight,” she explained.

“Very toxic and very stupid,” she added.

“I had already started getting tattoos and it was 108 degrees. So I had to wear sweaters because my dad was very against tattoos or any form of self-expression.”

‘I’ll try letters, I’ll try soft, I’ll try screaming. He’ll say something like, “Now look, you’re screaming.”‘

In 2018, King revealed to People that she had developed a closer bond with Schneider after the end of a tumultuous marriage and her struggles with drug abuse and mental health issues.

The current status of King and her father’s relationship remains uncertain, though they last appeared on stage together in public at Elle’s New Year’s Eve concert in Nashville.
