Rob Lowe was once pulled over by police for smoking marijuana with Michael J Fox.
The 60-year-old Outsiders star, who recently opened up about his role opposite Tom Cruise, recalled getting caught smoking drugs with the Back to the Future actor in 1986.
Rob shared on the Where everyone knows your name podcast on Wednesday: ‘There was a bus tour through California for Prop 65, which was about cleaning up our water system, and everyone on the planet got involved.
“But there were two different buses. We got pulled over for speeding, but also because Michael J. Fox and I were smoking weed on the roof of the Greyhound bus,” he admitted.
And other A-list stars got caught up in the drama.

“The officer pulled us over and it was like a clown car: out came Whoopi Goldberg, Cher, Judd Nelson, Michael J. Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Robert Downey Jr., Jane Fonda and Danny Glover,” the former Brat Pack member said.
Lowe said their bus was stopped because “we had the top escape hatch removed.” He repeated candidly, “Michael and I, and we were smoking weed.”
Since the incident, the Youngblood star has spoken openly about his battle with addiction in the ’80s.
In 1990, he quit drinking with the help of his wife Sheryl Berkoff, a makeup artist whom he married the following year.

“I’m really lucky that it happened to me. Maybe I changed it — maybe — but it’s a big maybe. And when I met her, I knew if I couldn’t make it with her, I certainly couldn’t make it with anyone else,” he explained of his current wife’s role.
And his battle with alcoholism got in the way of family emergencies at the time.

“I remember it like it was yesterday. My mom told me to ‘pick it up, pick it up’ because my grandpa had a heart attack,” he explained, noting that he had a bottle of tequila next to him.
“I couldn’t deal with it in its current state. I had to go to sleep to wake up so I could deal with it,” he said.
The St. Elmo’s Fire star said he knew at that point he had gone too far.

“Who doesn’t have a bottle of Cuervo Gold on their nightstand? That was the ultimate wake-up call. I’ve been sober ever since,” Rob said.
Before going bankrupt, he and his friend Michael J Fox met on the set of Family Ties in 1982. They lost touch, but reconnected while filming Bright Lights, Big City in 1988.
