Rick Ross breaks his silence after he was attacked by furious Drake fans for playing Kendrick Lamar diss track at Vancouver festival

Rock Ross has spoken out after he was attacked by angry Drake fans at a Canadian music festival for playing a “diss track” directed at the rapper by Kendrick Lamar.

Ross, whose real name is William Roberts, played a set at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday, closing out his set with Kenrick’s hit “Not Like Us,” which became the hit against Drake.

As the 48-year-old rapper left the stage with the song still playing, he was confronted by a group of Drake fans who were not happy with his choice for the closing song.

Footage of the attack shared on social media shows a man resembling Ross getting into a heated argument with a male festival-goer.

The man then punches Ross, after which a brawl ensues.

It appears the fight didn’t affect Ross’ time in Canada. The rapper posted an Instagram story in front of his Rick Ross-branded private jet on Monday, writing, “Vancouver it was fun see you next time.”

In the photo series he is also seen drinking champagne and having lunch with his entourage.

Drake, 37, appeared to take aim at Ross earlier this year in his song “Push Ups.” The track included the lyrics, “I might grab your newest girl and tie her up like Ricky / I can’t believe he jump in, this n—- turning 50 / Every song that hit the charts, he got from Drizzy.”

Ross responded with his song Champagne Moments, suggesting that Drake had gotten a nose job.

Canadian star Drake and American rapper Kendrick Lamar have been engaged in a fierce rivalry for years.

Lamar, 37, made some serious allegations on his track Not Like Us, which was released earlier in May 2024.

In the song, the Compton rapper accuses Drake of being a pedophile, along with another member of his crew.

The post was posted on YouTube featuring an image of Drake’s house covered in red sex offender symbols.

The photo series also shows him drinking champagne and having lunch with his crew.

Drake responded in May with the release of The Heart Part 6, in which he rapped, “Drake is a name you won’t see on a sex offender list.”

Lamar took on the Canadian rapper again in June and hosted the star-studded show, The Pop Out – Ken & Friends at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

He opened the stage with his song Euphoria, a diss track aimed at Drake, featuring new lyrics.

According to the BBC, the song included a new line in which the hitmaker raps: “Give me back Tupac’s ring and I might give you some respect.”

The new addition appears to reference how Drake purchased the late Tupac Shakur’s crown ring for over $1 million in July 2023, as an anonymous bidder.

While Ross took on Drake’s fans, the rapper celebrated Canada Day by posting a series of videos and photos to his Instagram stories.

In one clip, he was seen singing along to a song, then looking into the camera and saying, “Happy Canada Day.”

In another clip, a friend squeezes a slice of lemon into a drink and then clinks his glass, presumably with Drake. Drake held the camera and took a sip, taping an emoji of a Canadian flag and a maple leaf to his glass.

The rapper ended the day with fireworks and posted a video of the fireworks while enjoying them with friends.

Ny Breaking.com has contacted Ignite Music Festival, Rick Ross and representatives for Drake for comment.
