Raiders coach Antonio Pierce is named in his wife’s bankruptcy filing after he ‘invested in car dealerships that defaulted on $28million in loans’

  • Pierce allegedly invested in car dealers in Arizona that could no longer repay their loans
  • His wife has filed for bankruptcy because lenders want to garnish his wages
  • Pierce was promoted to head coach in January after serving as interim coach

Las Vegas Raiders head coach and former NFL linebacker Antonio Pierce has been named in his wife’s bankruptcy filing in Arizona, where he allegedly invested in car dealerships that defaulted on $28 million in loans.

According to Jocelyn Pierce’s June 12 filing with the US Bankruptcy Court in Arizona obtained by DailyMail.com, lenders including Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation and Hyundai Capital America are seeking to garnish Antonio’s wages with the Raiders.

Jocelyn filed the bankruptcy petition to “protect her assets,” according to documents filed on her behalf. After being granted a reprieve, Jocelyn has until July 12 to piece together all information about the ‘community of property’ between her and her husband, whom she married in 2008.

In her filing, Jocelyn claims that Antonio was a “passive investor” in several car dealerships in the 2010s, but when the companies defaulted on their loans, lenders were able to produce documents showing that the 45-year-old football coach was a guarantor.

The case was first revealed on X by employment attorney Jason Morrin. An attorney representing Jocelyn Pierce did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

Antonio’s new salary has not been publicly disclosed since he was promoted from interim coach to head coach by the Raiders in January. The former Giants and Redskins linebacker replaced fired head coach Josh McDaniels in October. The Raiders are coming off an 8-9 season after going 5-4 and narrowly missing the playoffs with Pierce at the helm.

Previously, the former Super Bowl winner was named as a defendant in a class action lawsuit in Pennsylvania, which remains open, according to a court filing obtained by DailyMail.com. Another former Giants linebacker, Jessie Armstead, is also listed in that case.

Outside of the NFL, Pierce is perhaps best known for rushing teammate Plaxico Burress to the hospital after the Giants wide receiver accidentally shot himself at a strip club in 2008. Pierce was later cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in the incident.

Antonio and Jocelyn got married in 2008. And according to multiple reports, he has seven children.
