Queen Mary of Denmark puts on a stylish display in jeans as she departs Sydney with her children after secret trip to Australia without husband Frederik

Queen Mary of Denmark was spotted leaving Sydney with her children on Thursday after a low-key trip to Australia.

It is understood the Australian-born Danish monarch, 52, flew to Hobart last week to attend her niece’s wedding before traveling to Sydney where she soaked up the sun on some of the city’s most picturesque beaches.

After spending almost a week in her home country, Mary was spotted leaving Australia with her 13-year-old twins Josephine and Vincent.

The mother of four wore stylish jeans and a white shirt as she arrived at the airport in a black car.

She was carrying a large brown handbag when she got out of the car with her two children.

Mary last visited Australia in December with her twins to spend Christmas with her family.

Although the trip was a personal one, with the Queen keeping a low profile without her husband present, the monarch had an official royal engagement in Australia just months earlier.

In late April 2023, she visited Sydney for a day to ‘participate in an event with Danish business representatives involved in Australia’s green transition, and to visit a number of Danish-clad projects related to sustainable construction and transportation’.

Mary’s return to Australia comes 12 months after rumors emerged that her husband King Frederick, 56, had an affair with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova, which were strongly denied.

Frederik did not accompany his wife on her trip to Australia, but chose to remain in Denmark on official business.

However, his decision to stay home has raised eyebrows among Danish royal fans who have been keeping a close eye on the couple since the ‘affair’ scandal rocked their relationship.

Cracks began to appear in the couple’s fairytale romance after the then-Crown Prince was photographed on a night out with Ms Casanova in Madrid last October.

The once “playful, tactile” royal couple appeared icy and distant during their first public appearance after the photos were published by Spanish magazine Lecturas.

Since then, fans have been mourning the outwardly loving relationship the couple once shared, with many claiming the fire has gone out between them.

Ms Casanova strongly denied any affair with Frederik immediately after photos of the pair together emerged and has since refused to speak about the matter.

Weeks after the photos of the now King and Mrs Casanova were published, Mary was spotted on another holiday in Sydney without Frederik.

During that visit, she climbed the harbor bridge together with Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
