Tragedy struck yesterday when two pet dogs were poisoned and killed in Chon Buri province. Chalawan Chutaphet, a resident of Tambon Khao Mai Kaew, Bang Lamung district, expressed his deep sorrow following the incident, which has left his family devastated.
The dogs were found dead after consuming fried chicken laced with a lethal substance, believed to have been deliberately placed by an unknown individual.
Chalawan yesterday, November 27, recounted to reporters the sequence of events leading to the tragic deaths of his dogs. He noticed a person on a motorcycle passing by his house, who then threw pieces of fried chicken to his pets.
The dogs, unsuspecting of the danger, eagerly consumed the treat. It wasn’t long before they began convulsing, struggling for breath, and tragically died in full view of Chalawan’s family.
He has not yet filed a formal complaint with police to relevant agencies but hopes that the perpetrator becomes aware of the cruelty inflicted. Chalawan emphasised that if there had been any issues with his household or his pets, it would have been better to discuss them openly rather than resort to harming innocent animals, reported KhaoSod.
Chalawan’s story has resonated with many pet owners who fear for the well-being of their animals. Poisoning incidents are not unheard of, but the deliberate targeting of pets in such a manner has alarmed the local community.
