Manchester City have unveiled their fourth kit for the 2024-25 season, co-designed by loyal fan and British music legend Noel Gallagher.

The Premier League champions took inspiration from Oasis’ iconic debut album Definitely Maybe to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release.

According to the club, the strip features the outline of ‘navy blue supersonic waves’ and has been named Definitely City by kit manufacturer Puma.

Gallagher spoke about his involvement in the design and reiterated his love for his boyhood club, which has come a long way since he and his brother Liam were regulars at Maine Road long before Oasis achieved success in the 1990s.

‘I loved City before I did anything else, I was a City fan before I loved music, I was a City fan before I knew what music was.’ The 57-year-old told the club website.

‘Definitely Maybe that’s what got us going, the record standing for so long, you can’t predict something like that. It’s a great working class, Mancunian record – it’s real.

‘When PUMA approached us at one of the matches to design a kit, it took us about five seconds to agree. It’s the same colour palette as the cover of Definitely Maybe: it’s unique, but it’s definitely eye-catching and I think it looks great. When you see people representing your club, it’s important that they look good.

‘Definitely Maybe’ never lost its magic for me. I just think it’s a beautiful snapshot of what we were about.

‘With the anniversary I’ve listened to it a lot more than I ever would, it makes me smile – they were great times. It’s produced a great football kit, the legacy lives on.’

The release of the City kit comes less than two weeks after the Manchester brothers finally ended their 15-year feud and announced they would be performing together again, 34 years after their first gig.

Their 14-show tour runs from July 4 to August 17, kicking off at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before heading to Manchester’s Heaton Park, London’s Wembley, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield and Dublin’s Croke Park.

Some fans criticized Oasis, complaining about the high cost of tickets to their upcoming shows.

City will wear their new kit for the first time when they take on Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on September 18. The kit will also be worn in select European matches throughout the campaign.
