Nicole Kidman admits her new erotic drama Babygirl is her ‘most exposing’ film yet as she hints at one very intimate scene

Nicole Kidman has hinted that her upcoming erotic drama Babygirl is her most daring film yet, as she sheds light on the exciting project.

In Babygirl, the 57-year-old Australian actress plays an influential New York businesswoman who begins a risky affair with her much younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson.

The steamy film will feature some very intimate scenes, including one in which Nicole’s character masturbates after having sex with her husband, played by Antonio Banderas.

Nicola, who recently starred in another romance about a different age gap, A Family Affair, admitted she had never felt as ‘exposed’ in front of the camera as she does now.

Speaking with Vanity FairNicole said she’s not sure she’s “brave enough” to see the film on the big screen when it premieres at the Venice Film Festival next month.

“There’s something inside me that says, ‘Okay, this is made for the big screen and to be seen with people. I’m not sure I have that much courage,’” Nicole told the publication.

“I’ve made some films that were quite revealing, but nothing like this,” she added of the “confronting” experience.

Nicole expressed concern about the audience seeing the sex scenes, admitting she felt “battered” by the “vulnerable” filming process.

“It’s like, golly, I’m doing this, and now it’s really going to be seen by the world. It’s a really weird feeling,” she said.

“This is something you hide in your home videos. It’s not something that is normally seen by the world.”

In Babygirl, Nicole takes on the role of Romy, a businesswoman who tries to combine her career with her marriage to a theater director (Antonio).

Their marriage takes a hit when new intern Samuel (Harris) makes it clear he’s attracted to Romy and they begin exploring a “forbidden sexual dynamic.”

Director Halina Reijn wanted to emphasize the female orgasm in the thriller. There is a charged scene in which Romy masturbates.

This isn’t the first time Nicole has starred in a steamy age-gap romance. She recently starred in the Netflix series A Family Affair opposite Zac Efron.

The romantic comedy saw the duo share a steamy nude scene together, with Nicole sharing insight into the filming process in a recent interview.

She spoke about how she finds it “lazy” to rely solely on chemistry when casting lovers, while sharing her thoughts on chemistry tests during auditions.

She told The Hollywood Reporter’s Roundtable with Drama Actresses: ‘There’s a way to shoot things, I think just relying on chemistry is lazy. There’s the writing, there’s the interaction – you can literally be directed through it.’

“Also, you can have no chemistry, but on screen it is created,” she added.

A Family Affair was not a critical success, with Nicole’s husband Keith Urban later claiming that he was ‘secretly’ pleased with the poor reception.

An insider told New idea that Keith, 56, was unhappy with his wife getting cosy with Zac, even though the pair last starred as lovers in the hit crime drama The Paperboy 12 years ago.

“He trusts Nicole completely, but he’s concerned that she’s getting so intimate with Zac on screen for the second time,” the source said.

“She probably won’t do it a third time, which makes Keith incredibly happy deep down — something he should keep to himself, of course!”
