Taylor Swift is dominating a new promo for the 2024 NFL season ahead of this week’s opening round — leaving football fans furious.
Avid fans of the sport were less than pleased with the media attention Swift received when she attended her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s games for the Kansas City Chiefs last season.
And just days before opening night of the 2024 season — when reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City hosts the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday — the NFL has already sparked outrage after featuring the pop star more than anyone else in the new promo.
In the video, which spans the six calendar months of the season and shows highlights from the 2023 season, Swift appears no fewer than five times.

She’s first seen partying alongside Kelce’s mom Donna at Arrowhead in two separate clips in September, before arriving at a game in January wearing a custom ‘Kelce 87’ Chiefs jacket.
Also in January, Taylor is seen sharing a kiss with Travis on the field after Kansas City’s AFC Championship win in Baltimore. In February, a clip shows her drinking a beer on the big screen during last season’s Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, star quarterback Brock Purdy, who inspired the San Francisco 49ers to reach the Super Bowl last year, and fellow Cincinnati Bengals forward Joe Burrow do not appear once in the video.
Other notable players not featured in the promo include quarterbacks CJ Stroud (Houston Texans), Matthew Stafford (LA Rams) and Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers).
And while he’s considered the face of the NFL, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes doesn’t appear until the very end of the video, when he holds up the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Swift has appeared in the video more than anyone else, having appeared five times. The NFL showed clips of her partying with Travis Kelce’s mother Donna (left) and kissing her boyfriend (right).

NFL fans are outraged by the number of times Swift appears in the promo and are taking their frustrations out on X.
Someone wrote in surprise: ‘Taylor Swift was seen 5 times in this 28 second clip showing the return of football.’
Another was furious: ‘STOP SHOWING TAYLOR SWIFT, WE DON’T CARE’.
A third posted: ‘I’ve seen Taylor Swift 5 times and I haven’t even seen my own team’.
A fourth commented: ‘lol I’m fine with Taylor Swift being in it once but being the one getting the most screen time for an NFL hype video is absurd.’
‘WHY ARE WE SHOWING TAYLOR SWIFT 5 TIMES? I THOUGHT THIS WAS SOCCER?’ groaned another.

While someone joked: ‘Taylor Swift hype video’.
It remains to be seen whether Swift will be present for Kelce and the Chiefs’ first game of the season against the Ravens in Kansas City on Thursday night.
The singer won’t resume her international Eras Tour until she heads to Miami on October 18, which means she’ll have her schedule free to support her husband at Arrowhead.
